Reform committee announced in Thailand


Thailand’s democratic party spokesman, Korn, announces a reform committee, not elected but self-appointed. Not representative of the electorate.

Among the members are former foreign minister Kasit Bhirom and Nipon Wongtrangan, a former president of the Thai rice Millers Association. 

According to Korn, they will draw up strategies to address national problems in all front. 

The strategies will deal with the problems in the short to long term. They will be completed in four months. 

Korn said that on the economic front, the strategies will clearly define goals for key indicators like the economic growth rate, public debt level, household debt and per-capita income. 

He said that the team would discuss with academics and other parties before drafting the strategies.
